I have been involved with an organization called The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC) for 20+ years. The wonderful instructors and volunteers taught my sister to ski with various adaptations that she needed over the years and they taught me how to ski and snowboard so that the two of us could ski together! During a few summers, we also did adaptive biking and waterskiing. Off and on I have volunteered with TAASC when I was available in the winters since I was 13. This year I have been attending clinics and I will be helping with lessons with the goal of working towards becoming a lead instructor! I am really excited for this opportunity! Attached is a short video of what TAASC is all about. They host one fund raiser a year to raise funds for all of the amazing programs they have. Money goes to working on new programs, scholarships for people and their families to participate in the programs, and for purchasing new adaptive equipment for snow skiing and snowboarding, kayaking, waterskiing, sled hockey, and many other activities. Please consider donating money to help TAASC continue the amazing things they do to get individuals with disabilities into exciting outdoor activities! My goal is to raise $125 by January 31st.
