I have been looking forward to reading this book for a while as I didn’t know that much about this God. As I started to read I was struck by how much information was on each page but this in no way made it a heavy book to read. The author shares her passion and her respect for this most complex of deities I found the section on the calendars and the way his worship spread from country to country also the connection between Dionysos and other Gods and Goddesses very interesting and upon finishing this book found I want to learn more about this God of the vine. Vikki has through her exploration of his myths, traditions, symbols and practice produced a book that belongs on the book shelf of anyone with an interest in the world of Dionysos.
