I have been reading some books and done some preliminary testing on Rebel for training him to track stuff I have read many places its healthy for his breed to use his nose often and he can basically already do it within a few days of working with him... He can find rags with random scents that have been dragged down the street a few blocks ... I tried it by putting random scents on a tennis ball and gettin him to Hunt it down in the house then to do it outside.. then to roll it really far with him not looking and he can sniff our the trail... then I got a rag and a string and ran the rag down the road with him inside the the house... and stuck in under a random rock.. takes him about 15-20 minutes and he is standing staring at the rock and he gets super excited he gets to do something for me even though its pointless right now lol.. Im thinking about sticking with it and seeing if i Can get him much better at it to a point where he can find recently lost pets for people... That would be pretty awesome and a good reason to keep him.. we could save lives together... JUST THINKING... and messing around at this point But it is a good thought If i could get it to work.....
