I have been so busy since returning home from the Best of the Northwest show 10 days ago that I havent even shared any information! It was a GREAT show for Nat! Her BEST so far!! One gallery in Georgetown and a retail outlet in Mill Creek approached Nat, saying they would love to carry her work. A caterer who bought a fish offered that she would be potentially interested in many fish to line a pathway to a beach-front wedding this summer. Another fellow was thinking about Natalies Phoenix Rising...indicating that it really was speaking to him. And, yet another woman said her brother is an international expert on bats...and that Nats bats are the best she has ever seen. I know I speak for Nat too...when I say that all the hard work pays off when you find that people appreciate your creative efforts!!! I find I experience such joy helping Nat build her business. Years ago I had a role in helping someone else build a business....and it was such a rewarding feeling. I felt an emptiness in my soul when he eventually sold the company. Nice guy, nice job, great company! One memorable happening while at the show occurred Friday evening. The musicians were playing and the customers were winding up their shopping...getting ready for the show close in about 30 minutes. Suddenly the lights went out! And at 5:30pm now-days its dark....especially inside an old aircraft hangar! Everyone quietly went about their business closing up for the night...with or without the benefit of a flashlight. (I will remember to add a flashlight to our show inventory.) And...the music kept playing. Someone had been playing the accordian....and he just kept on playing. I felt like I was on the Titanic. Then...I later learned that he was blind...and he did not know the lights had gone out. (Next time I think someone will pay attention to something like that so no one is left unknowing, in the dark!).
