I have been thinking long and hard about the Bill Cosby situation. While I believe where there is smoke there is fire and some of these allegations are definitely true, I am also troubled by the proliferation of women popping up in the wake of legitimate accusations - particularly the first woman - the former model - they interview in this 20/20 show. I am sorry to be un P.C. - but I do not find her credible. Because this is nothing because a media spectacle (no charges can be brought against Cosby) - anyone can claim it happened to them. In a land of troubled narcissists who will do anything for 15 minutes of fame, I would ask the press to stop the circus. I feel that it only encourages dissemblers to step forward. The garish, tawdry, tabloid saga that this has become, makes it seem like stories of rape are being used for ratings. Its disturbing and also must be upsetting to the women who were raped - to any person who has been raped. Also - as a fan of jurisprudence - a person needs to be tried to in court - not the media. If this man is a serial rapist, tossing mud on him is not true justice. And regardless of the is he or isnt he - dont continue to saturate the airwaves with undocumented, unsubstantiated accusations. His career is done (at a point when it barely matters) and that, sadly, may be the only justice there is. Unless there is a case of some kind to be filed, can we please move on? Thats my 2 cents.
