I have been working on a charity for some time now. It is focused on air conditioning in homes and cars. I know they have an AC for homes, but who ever gets one? IDK about any for cars. The point is, one summer when I was single, I couldnt afford a new air compressor. I couldnt do a lot of things I needed to do to get by.. grocery shopping, diapers, until night time bc it was over a hundred degrees. Its something people dont think about. If you have a job, are in school, and paying for bills & a daycare with no government help, its hard to pay $400 for an air compressor. Testing, labor, all that is a factor.. so a good, honest mechanic is crucial. I have found one who would do a flat rate labor fee of $50 for every car. Thats huge. Now just to think of how on earth we will do the rest.. like raising money and the screening to make sure ppl arent taking advantage. Seeing babies sweating with the windows down breaks my heart. This wont just he for people with food stamps and rental assistance. Thats not fair. It will be for them too, but also working people who can show me that they make $2000/3000 a month and their bills are $2000 or $3000- which is the case for a lot of people. Even if they work hard, sometimes after rent, insurance, utilities, groceries.. theres no room for extra.
