I have had a lot of people come up to me and say - Youre not talking yet? or Arent you doing anything about your voice? or better yet - I dont know what Id do without being able to speak, probably die! These are such polite people; but ignorant. Sometimes I would love to scream and say, do you think I dont want to speak again! So, for those of you who may question...No, I am not talking yet; on good days I can have a light whisper. Yes, I have done something about it! I have seen specialist that ran tests with scopes down my throat. No, there is no surgery or therapy to get my voice back. Dont question others when you dont know what the situation is. And NO - I wouldnt rather be dead! I am thankful to God that my cancer is gone; but am dissapointed my voice went with it. And the surgeon that did this should not be allowed to practice again. I found out that it could have been prevented; and he didnt need to cut my vocal cord nerves. So for those of you who question my health; Im glad this was me and not you! Ive learned to deal with what is going on in my life and I can tell by your questions you wouldnt be able to handle this. SORRY everyone - but there are some rude and obnoxious people out there who musts think I enjoy not having my voice. Oh by the way, I may not be able to talk....BUT I CAN HEAR!
