I have heard it said that we conservatives may be over-reacting to the current executive order for amnesty. While I agree that it may be impractical to deport every illegal currently residing within our borders, we need to, at a minimum, deport those that we invited in within the past year. Given that we effectively extended an invitation to, and blessed the breaking of our law by, millions of people promising them amnesty in the past year, it is obvious, at least to me, that this was orchestrated. We need to begin making illegal entry into this country LESS, not MORE attractive. There IS a legal means to becoming a citizen. I have several friends who have gained their citizenship in such a manner. This executive order is a slap in the face to each and every one of them, as well as to native born Americans. It not only takes time, dedication, and thousands of dollars to become a citizen legally, it takes a real desire to assimilate. Something most illegals do not desire to do. And I dont want to hear that Obama isnt the first to issue executive orders. Executive orders are SUPPOSED to be restricted to expanding CURRENT law in times of dire need, NOT enacting NEW law because it is the presidents opinion that such a law should exist. Also, the president has NEVER had power over granting citizenship. It has NEVER been intended for the president to be able to completely circumvent Congress and the Constitution and do whatever the hell he pleased as though he were a dictator. We are a republic and Obama should abide by our Constitution and respect the balance of power established by that document which has made our country the greatest nation the world has ever known. It is our way of life that he is spitting upon and degrading and rushing to change that has made us the envy of all the world. So, sing the woes of those who have lives here all you wish. Sing the woes of the poor downtrodden illegal ALIEN. All the while you are also the ones crying out that America is a bully and should keep her nose out of the business of other countries. Well, if we are not responsible for the well-being of other countries, we certainly arent responsible for their people, and definitely NOT at the detriment of our own.
