I have just been sad enough to work out how much its costs to be that little bit nicer too...if you are on the average salary in the UK (which is £30,000) that is an hourly rate of around £15. There are 60 minutes in an hour meaning you get paid 25p a minute. It takes, at maximum, 5 seconds to say phrases such as: Hello, thank you, please, how are you. It also takes the same amount of time to hold a door open, pick something up for someone, crack a smile....meaning that for every 5 seconds you spend doing a kind gesture you are spending 0.5p on doing so. But in the mean time you are putting a smile on someones face or restoring their faith in humanity. Just saying, stop hating, start smiling.
