I have just joined this group and wanted to share with you about our love for Norfolks. We have had our little Tilly for 16 years. It was her birthday on 20 December last year and she got through Xmas and New Year. However she died last Monday 5th Jan. We had taken her for a walk on Sunday and she ate her food on the Monday as normal. We think it was her heart as she has had a heart valve disease and a heart murmour for a number of years and been on medication every day. This caused her heart to swell and during the last few months her heart has been pressing on her windpipe and causing her to be sick quite a lot. She has also been breathing very strangely over last few weeks. But she was a little fighter as she kept on bouncing back from these little episodes, but on Monday 5th January her little heart must have given up because when my husband returned from work he found her. We loved our little Tilly so much, it has been heartbreaking this week without her. It has left a huge void in our home and our hearts. It is so quiet, we keep looking for her. However she decided this was her time and we did not have to make that awful decision ourselves. We buried her in a special place in our garden so she can be close to us. Our darling little Tilly, bless you. We shall never forget her. We are unsure whether it is too soon to think of getting another little Norfolk or not, we could never replace her but we miss our little companion so much. What are other peoples thoughts??
