I have just one word today - VOTE. Of course I cant really let it go with one word, but I really hope you will all get out there and, hopefully, support the many school levies. Im sure at times the schools dont always use all of the money wisely - but nonetheless, I personally will never vote against a levy. My children graduated in the 70s, my youngest grandchild some five years ago and right at the moment I have no one attending public schools, but in about two or three years my great granddaughter will start kindergarten. A good school system is our best hope for their future. It amazes me what an enormous percentage of folks dont take advantage of their right. Several weeks ago, my son in New Orleans worked at their polls. Granted, it was not a big election, but 11% of the people voted. Shameful. My Grandmother was 58 years old before she got the right to vote, and from that time until she died at 86 she never failed to go to the polls. So I hope you will give it serious thought, and then go out there and do your duty. Im proud to put that little sticker I Voted on my jacket.
