I have just seen the best brawl on a football pitch I have seen in about twenty years. Drogheda Town v TEK United in the Gililgan Cup Both teams and benches got involved, and it was serious stuff Punches Kung Fu kicks the lot.. The referee and assistants had no chance of controlling it. The match was rightly abandoned after 96 minutes. The main culprit for causing it was the number 10 of TEK. Himself and young Conor Smith the Tow centre half were on the ground holding each others shirt after the ball had bee cleared when the ten elbowed the home player. The assistant to be fair flagged immediately but by the time anyone could do anything the Drogs goalie got involved and then all hell broke loose for about a minute.
