I have many highly principled friends who vote in critical elections based entirely on ideological purity, almost always for people they concede have absolutely no chance of winning. George W. won the 2000 elections by a hair. He had about .5% more of the popular vote than Gore, while Nader took about 2.75% mainly from the Democrats. A lot of peace loving, green thinking people who believed in universal health care, the social safety net and more, ended up putting into office a man who to be EXTREMELY kind was not very big on these things. There are three candidates: (A) Who is strongly against most everything you are for. (B) Who is with you on a lot of issues, but not all. (C) Who is strongly with you on just about every single issue. The kicker is that (C) is a third party candidate who has zero, zip, nada chance of winning. To a statistical certainty, the winner will be (A) or (B). What do you do, and why?
