I have posted this before but Im going to do it again to emphasize how important it is for us older folks to get rid of EVERYTHING that we do not need. Go through those trunks, boxes and bookshelves in the house.....and dont forget the attic, basement and closets! Give it to family members who want it, then have a yard sale or donate to thrift shops, but DO NOT leave it for relatives to sort through when youre gone!! It causes guilt, conflict and a monumental amount of time. Although they love you, they will not love the cabinets, drawers and shelves full of old tax receipts, pay stubs, unfinished projects, craft stashes and books, letters, birthday cards, etc., etc., etc. you leave behind. Remember, your stuff may be nostalgic to you, but it may hold no meaning or have no use at all to anyone else. If you cant be objective enough to part with it, ask for help from a friend or family member, but GET STARTED!!!
