I have recently begun studying about the Jewish 7-year period - TopicsExpress

I have recently begun studying about the Jewish 7-year period known as the Shemitah (pronounced SCHMEETAH) along with the corresponding 49-year period known as the Year of Jubilee. Interesting facts--September 25, 2014 begins the new Shemitah period which will end our calendar year September 13, 2015. This years Shemitah corresponds with the Year of Jubilee and an event known as a blood moon tetrad, a rare astronomical event that involves 4 separate blood moon occurences in one year, the first on Passover, the last on September 28, 2015. In a nutshell, Gods blessings pour out in abundance during these times on those who serve Him. Great destruction for those who have forgotten Him. Shemitah is a time of shaking from the Lord. Historically, there are either a lot of coincidental shakings, both good and bad, or this is still in operation. The destruction of Israel and the temple, the restoration and solidification of Israel as a nation, the stock market crash of 29, 9-11 and the proceeding stock market crash--ALL occurred during Shemitah and/or the Year of Jubilee. I wonder what we, as a nation, could expect from the Lord during this Shemitah and Year of Jubilee? Will we be shaken with great blessing for remembering Him or destruction for forgetting Him? The greatest shaking comes at the end of the Shemitah. Though I am not one who puts God in a box or on a timeline, the more I learn about God, the more frightened I become for us as a people, the way we wink and nod at sin. Most have no clue how terrible it is for a rebellious people to fall into the hands of the Living God. God have mercy on us. Selah.
