I have seen so many post this morning about how there is no Christmas Spirit, No gifts under the tree, I dont have the money to do anything, and the list goes on. Trust me if anyone understands the pot holes in the road, well lets not lie if anyone understands the cliff in the roads it is us. We dont have any of the above either BUT I laid in bed thinking last night that I refuse to let that bring me down. So I have shared this with a couple of friends this morning and I want to share with the rest: Remember that it is NOT about the gifts. You both have an opportunity to do something that I am starting, yes late BUT starting start a journal for EACH of the kiddos (loved ones in your life) about what you want to tell them etc. Keep adding to it and then give it to them on their graduation day, wedding day, or God forbid where it can be found when you pass away. Make sure to add pictures and explain who the people are give them some family history. God knows that as the generations keep growing we are losing our heritages. At some point these kid will appreciate it. Starting January 1st take a picture EVERY day to add to the journal doesnt have to be just one it can be many but let your loved one know the beauty in your day even when you felt that there was no beauty there. You would be so surprised what you can find in the clouds, pictures, every day items if you REALLY take the time and LOOK at it. I can usually take any picture and get something positive out of it. (Will show you some pictures later where I have done this.) The last few days I have learned even though I feel I am walking alone through this hell on this house that I am not. We all have our own type of hell we are dealing with but lets stop a minute and take the focus off of us and think about that mother that just lost her husband and she has to be strong for the children and herself, or the parents that had to bury their child and when they take family pictures the only the way to have a true family photo is by taking a photo of the child they lost to the photo shoot, think about the elderly that are in the their homes, hospitals or nursing homes and are getting no visitors because people are to consumed in their own activities to remember that parties and fun is not everything but showing love for another human being sure is. So go visit the home bound, get a group together clean out their gutters, clean their yards, if they use wood make sure that they have plenty CLOSE so they dont have to walk in this cold air, get a roll of plastic and cover their windows for them so that their house can stay warmer, etc. You dont need too know WHY the yard looks the way it does or why the gutters have more trees growing out of them then what is in the yard, you just need to know that the person needs help. MAYBE no matter the story showing someone a little bit of love will get them on the bandwagon as well to do something for another. Life is not all sunshine and roses but with work we can clear out the thorns and clouds.
