I have seen some post surrounding this situation, some standing up for this woman saying she is the most kind woman, would give the shirt off her back. Others slamming her for this outrageous act against this poor cats. Im going to put my 2 cents in on this, if it pisses some off, OH WELL, many of ya all have been mad at me before, and Im sure it wont be the last time. First of all, hoarding is a sickness, shame on her for not seeking help, but the reality is, she most likely could not ask for help, this is a mental illness, second of all, Im pretty sure this woman has family, friends or someone who knew of her hoarding, didnt happen over night! Third and most importantly, where in the hell where the rescues who kept sending animals to her to rescue? WHAT HAPPENED TO HOME VISITS? This story makes me ill. In all my years of working with rescues through out the US, the FIRST THING THAT EVERYONE SAYS NEEDS TO BE DONE IS HOME VISITS! Someone please explain to me, how at least three rescues that I know of sent cats to this residence AND DID NO HOME VISIT?!!!!!! What the hell are you thinking! To many times and to many reports nation wide of this same situation going on, and those who know sit back and do nothing, those who should be stepping up and doing home visits DO NOT! Just because someone says they are in rescue, get off your arse and check them out! But wait, NO, THAT WOULD MEAN you would lose an opportunity to place an animal! STOP PLAYING RESCUE and get off your ass and do your home visits! Had a home visit been done, many of these cats would have not died a horrible death at the hands of AN ANIMAL RESCUER! RANT OVER!
