I have spoken with the Head this morning, as you know there are some essential works taking place however the work is sadly behind schedule. The only thing that will stop the school opening on Wednesday will be due to safety issues... there has been a flood in the school which has resulted in some unsafe materials being present which now need to be removed by a specialist company and also the school will not be able to open if the scaffolding is still present. The scaffolding is scheduled to be removed on Monday and Tuesday next week but if this is delayed the school may not be open in time for Wednesday. There is also some serious damage to the yard due to vandals having a bonfire... this area will be cordoned off to the children until it can be made safe so will not be a factor in the decision. The school will provide an update on MONDAY if the opening day is going to be delayed but my advice to you is to make provisional plans IN CASE it is needed. I will also provide updates as and when i know anything! PLEASE DO NOT TRY AND CONTACT THE SCHOOL AS THIS WILL ONLY CAUSE MORE DELAYS IF STAFF ARE TRYING TO DEAL WITH PHONE CALLS ETC...
