I have the best friends. Ive said it before, Im guessing Ill say it again and again. One of the tasks I face with my SC house is a half acre yard, beautifully landscaped but missing that every day maintenance it needs for almost a decade, dating back to before I bought it. Theres a creek at the back that is practically invisible, the bank and approach overwhelmed by ivy and weeds. The ivy had taken over every bed anywhere near it, even trying to overwhelm trees, including a couple of beautiful dogwoods that border my patio. The driveway is bounded by a rock wall, buried in ivy. My car shed has a storage room off the back that was inaccessible - ivy and volunteer trees had overtaken it. The thought of what I needed to do, where to start, was honestly daunting. Then a dear, dear friend stepped in, giving me a housewarming gift - a day of yard care from a seasonal lawn care professional who is out of work due to the season. He was here for over 4 hours today, and I dont know if Ive ever seen anyone work any harder than he did. There is still much in the yard to do, but it is not overwhelming anymore. I am blessed, and I am grateful.
