I have thoroughly enjoyed campaigning in Ward 6 and meeting so many fantastic people. I’ve developed a deep empathy for those who are struggling and I share your concerns about the future of our beloved city. Your frustrations with PAYT or Pay As You Throw and our heavy property tax burden have been heard loudly and clearly. If elected, I will be a strong voice on the city council to repeal PAYT in our June referendum. I will also work hard to provide property tax relief, which is necessary to grow our local economy. One item that shocks me most is that few residents in Ward 6 know their city councilor. Most residents have never met nor heard of my incumbent opponent, despite my opponent having sat on the council for nearly one year. Even more surprising is my opponent never sent out a PAYT questionnaire seeking input from the residents in Ward 6, prior to casting her vote in favor of this new program. If I am elected as your Ward 6 councilor, not only will I seek your input, I will also value your opinion. If you believe your city councilor should represent their constituents and maintain an open channel of communication, I encourage you to support me, as I seek to begin a new era in Waterville, an era where the councilors work for the residents, not the residents working for their councilors.
