I have to admit to going into SEE NO EVIL 2 blind. While I’d heard of the original 2007 slasher starring hulking WWE brawler Kane (aka Glenn Jacobs), I hadn’t seen it and my research was telling me not to! Most comments and reviews were not kind, and I considered viewing ahead of this sequel. But, I didn’t. In truth, I only took this on because of my love of AMERICAN MARY. Twisted Twins Jen and Sylvia Soska surprised us all by following their bold and terrifically tense revenge thriller with a second outing for little-known God-fearing serial-killer Jacob Goodnight. So is SEE NO EVIL 2 worth your time… or more importantly (and perhaps selfishly), was it worth mine? ABSOLUTELY! It’s rare in horror that passion comes into play with filmmakers, more often than not, rushing to get a project finished and cashing their paycheck before moving on. The Soska Sisters’ real love and enthusiasm for the genre in meticulously evident in every shot and while SEE NO EVIL 2, unlike AMERICAN MARY, is far from groundbreaking or original, that’s the whole point in their execution of retro thrills. screenrelish/2014/10/17/see-evil-2-review/
