I have to say Im surprised to learn just how bad climate change could be. Is it really the case that, given oh say 6 deg C of warming - and thats not too far fetched given the pace of todays carbon emissions coupled with the potential for runaway positive feedbacks such as a sudden rush of methane out of the Arctic, some places on the planet could become not just uncomfortably hot, but deadly hot? Am I reading that right? Just in case you do take this concern seriously and would like to explore constructive positive ways to address it, you might look into the Citizens Climate Lobby. Theres now a Cache Valley chapter. From the recent Herald Journal article: The goals of the CCL are to create the political will for a stable climate and to empower individuals to have breakthroughs in exercising their personal and political power. Group members contact and meet with members of Congress and their staff, write letters to the editor and op-eds, meet with editorial boards and use other media to raise awareness about the need to address climate change.
