I have to share these photos from Christmas. :) Carter was asking for an ABC animal train from Santa. Based on an animated YouTube video he saw, it was a wooden train with 26 gondola shaped train pieces, with each train piece representing a letter. The train piece then had a corresponding animal to represent the letter. A for Alligator and so on. Well, this toy does NOT exist ! But I so badly wanted to make this happen for him, because he asked for it ! He has a limited interest in toys, but he REALLY wanted this ! He also used his words to request this train, so I was determined to make it happen ! I posted on a few local online Moms groups.....in search of 26 gondola wooden train pieces. The Moms responded..... They wanted to help me fulfill this request of his ! I drove around the city collecting wooden train pieces from Burlington homes, most of which were donated to me. When I had 26 pieces, I painted them all to match ! Hey, it had to look like Santa built this thing. ;) I then found 3 packs of wooden animals at a local toy store. They were the perfect size animals to fit inside the train pieces. As luck would have it, I was about 8 animals short of the full alphabet. I mean really, what are the chances of finding a wooden animal that starts with i, x, y etc; So, I manipulated them. I had a few extra animals, so I took my own craft paint and made them work. I for ice cream...that a rabbit was holding., X for x-ray...a skeleton painted on a penguin, U for unicorn...I added a horn to a horse. Well, it worked !! It all came together ! And he was SO VERY happy on Christmas morning ! My community helped make this happen for me. :) What a WONDERFUL community we live in !!! :D
