I have to share what happened to me today...I am not one to - TopicsExpress

I have to share what happened to me today...I am not one to normally share on social media, but I feel with the way that things are in the world today, that if I share this, it may restore someones faith in mankind like it did for me today.... I stopped on the way home today to get gas for my car. Unlike me I pulled my wallet out of the car (I normally just get my card), used my car in the gas pump, placed my card back in my wallet, and proceeded to place my wallet on my back window of my car... Once I finished pumping as, I finished the transaction, got in my car and headed home... Once I finally got off of the highway, the car that pulled up behind me at the stop light, the guy started to yell at me, of course I thought something was wrong with my car... He yelled your wallet was on your back window... So I got out of the car (thinking naively that my wallet would still be there...ha!) and the gentleman proceeded to tell me that he saw my wallet fall off of my car, and he witnessed that someone else saw the wallet fall, he stopped and picked the wallet up... The gentleman proceeded to advise me that I should go straight home and cancel all of my credit cards and notify my bank account.... Well I got back in my vehicle and thought well I will head back to the gas station just to see if someone turned it in (knowing fully well that it was gone, and running through my head all of the things I was going to have to cancel and get new again) On my way back to the gas station I received a phone call, I answered the phone thinking that maybe it was the gas station.... Well it was Strayer University... The girl on the other end, proceeded to let me know that a gentleman had called the school, asking if I was a student there... He had found the student I.D. in my wallet and called the school, she in turn called me.... She gave me the mans name and phone number, and I called him right back... He told me that he saw the wallet fall and picked it up because he had had the same thing happen to him once, and when he lost his wallet, the person returned it back to him, and he wanted to PAY IT FORWARD... Now to say that I am a cynical person as far as my faith in mankind goes, is an understatement...so when this young man, went OUT of his way to try to get my wallet returned to me...was utterly astonishing to me...and was one of the best things that have happened to me this year...! (except for everyone on Facebook helping to find Maxie this year) When he returned my wallet to me, I said that I wanted to give him a tip, and he refused saying that he didnt need that he just wanted to do the right thing and PAY IT FORWARD...so I gave him a huge hug!!! I just wanted to say to this young man, thank you for being what I thought was lost...an honestly good person...and for caring and going out of your way for someone you didnt even know... I will PAY IT FORWARD, I promise..... Thank you Bonito, for your kindness...I will never forget you!!!
