I have today formed a task force to probe and review the construction of all the buildings within Nairobi City County. The Nairobi City County only approved construction of four levels in the just collapsed building but the contractor went ahead and illegally constructed the extra storeys. We are pursuing them and we will ensure they are charged in a court of law!! I would like to urge all would be tenants in Nairobi to ensure that they demand from there landlords a valid certificate of occupancy before occupying a house. If you also notice your house has a crack on the wall, Please vacate immediately to avoid unnecessary loss of lives. Be safe!
