I have tried out and skated in many different skate shoes. I got tired of going through so many pairs a year from nh5050s and thanks to my last purchase about 3 months ago. I have been going through ideas in a word document to improve a shoe design specifically for freestyle. This is what worked for me the most, just a tiny bit of my document below, its just a combination of various shoes Ive worn. Fat tongue with extra cushion. Top side of tongue near toes, 2-3 layers of padding with one layer over the shoelaces. Bottom of shoes, standard grip with very little design / indentions. We dont need a crapload of structure on the bottom because we dont use it for much. Standard gripping for flip tricks and ollie tricks like airwalks, m80s etc. Theres a shoelace design out there thats very tough but I cannot remember the brand. It would be awesome to find that brand and get those shoelaces on the custom shoes. Feel free to add to this and modify because it would be awesome to one day design a shoe just for freestyle! Or at least customize a shoe using shoe goo and materials. I am tired of messing up the top of my feet, bleeding and pinching my blood vessels with nh5050s and casper tricks.
