I have volunteered at Seattle Hempfest since the late 90s. I never got paid and many times it has cost me money or jobs. I did get many hugs and lasting friends. I have never gotten an award and I think the first time I was ever invited to Speak at a Hempfest was last years Portland Hempstalk. I like to call myself an activist but I see so many that sacrificed so much that I frequently feel like a poser in comparison. At best I am a good follower, not a leader. So it pains me to see newcomers to the scene whine about not being invited to speak at Seattle Hempfest. This is not a fun party, this is a political rally about changing our government. If your activism has a requirement of having everyone praise your great work - check yourself before you wreck yourself. Many are still in jail. Many have died. Sorry if your feelings are hurt.
