I have wandered, or I am found, or poets I have wandered Lost in idolatry for the poet inside my soul Mountains of emotion Never let me o But I was trudging Hopeless melancholy Longing Steps leading me to where I wish to be Performance Lips Causing me to slip Down Into the chasm of my heart The current of my life pulling me apart Rushing rapids at the start But fast waters turn to curving mountain streams Drifting in an out my dreams Poets in the modern world Gone to the woods To face the facts Of life unfurled before their eyes Wandering through each other And the and The poets best friend Camaraderie, Loyalty, Friendship A special Bond shared by birds of a feather Women and men of the earth The human condition incarnate in the spoken word Oh Crystal heart of yours Beat into my world Make my fall in love with my poems again This is for you Gorillas on the mountain This fire is not just in front of us It is between us Special connection with the start With the wind The grass that grows beneath our feet Even to the smallest caterpillar that me meet Those nights That we wined and dined on hot dogs and our minds Rivers flowing Past the entrance to the underworld To the pearly gates And here we are Riot, Dryad, Ac, Sol, Jess, And Yes Phoenix Here we are Exhaling syllables into the wind Breathing them in again Here, we have formed a bond set in stone 1000 years from now A child will find our names Stair in wonder Like you and me seeing a cave painting Wondering about our ancestors That day That day they will learn the secrets of the poets who read here Of you and I Of the love Of the words They will learn what I will never forget.
