I have worked with children who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and ADD for almost thirteen years altogether. I thank God for blessing and protecting me in the midst of chaos, and speaking truth to power even in a manner that was not appreciated. I realized very recently again that some people are not forgiving or mature enough to recognize their own shortcomings. They do not want to estabish an understanding between them or others. They never see their wrong or claim ownership of it. It is always easier for them to scapegoat instead of dealing with the underlying cause of a problem which they created and refuse to solve. They are full of pride negatively. Believe me, I am very, very far from being perfect. I am still learning how to pick my battles. I strongly believe that accountability should not only be for some but for all regardless of age, race, class, and gender. The Lord gave me a heads up regarding a work situation. As a result, I still have my job and the means to provide for my family. It was also bittersweet. Would I have said and done some things differently? Of course, I would. People will and can think whatever they like. They have that option. People are people. I bear no malice toward them because I want the Lord to continue to hear me when I pray for others and myself. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I value peace of mind in every aspect of my life. Numerous times in my life, I had to maintain it by simply speaking to people and keep it moving. My peace of mind, integrity, and self-worth are imperative to me.
