I have written my share of songs over the years but I must say this is one of my favourites. Written early this year in a rental car while driving on the 401 between Toronto and Montreal and recorded in my basement with my wife Kristas Gibson guitar (true ownership an ongoing debate), a banjitar, a drum I built out of a suitcase found in a Cape Breton thrift shop, and the snare from my son Jacks toy drum kit. The volume is low, the quality not great and certainly nowhere near todays commercial standards... but anytime when I am alone after a couple JDs I always find myself here. I was fortunate to be able to perform this at the Cantwell family renunion with my cousin Eugene Cormier, and a room full of incredibly great people that I am proud to call family. I will admit that my career has taken me in a different direction and I have been very fortunate with no regrets but it is the music that will continue to mark the milestones in my life.
