I havent been too political here as of late, but I just have to get this off my chest: This unaccompanied minor immigrant crisis is just disturbing. The way these Mexican and South American kids are being regarded and treated is just deplorable among other choice words. This isnt just a humanitarian crisis, it is a crisis in leadership as well. The President ,the alleged deporter-in-chief, clearly hasnt done enough to alleviate this crisis with his executive power as he promised when he ran for office twice.The plight of these child refugees has sadly brought out the worst in a lot of people. There is nothing more un-American than denying compassion and decency towards a group of young children in need.Soldiers with guns confronting children seeking refuge is just plain awful.The road to any power runs right through the Hispanic/Latino community, and you will not see a anyone on top without it. I speak as one who comes from a family of immigrants and even without referring to that, on a macro whole, this is my problem as well as brown folks. We need to coalition-build on all levels to ensure this immigration crisis is dealt with successfully and effectively.While it may be unpopular for a visibly African-American to support this cause boldly among his own community while that community is still widely under served, I do not care what others think of my opinion on this. I will let you know when I care but I am a Latino, I am a woman, I am a feminist, I am a union worker, I am an Asian , Middle Eastern, and Native American equally in all respective battles in society. These kids and all undocumented need to be granted full citizenship ASAP! Yes I said it!
