I havent really known how to make this post and have needed some time to think about what to say.... We had to say good bye to Tucker on Thursday. I dont really have a lot of words it breaks my heart but I promised him from day one of his life I would never let anything happen to him. He was my best friend and has been by my side for the past 9 years when he got sick in April I wasnt ready to lose him and I still wasnt ready to lose him on Thursday but he let us know it was time and I am thankful for the extra 4 months we had together. I am so thankful for all my memories of the Old Man he was always up to a new adventure. From disappearing in the woods with the new puppy (Mollie and then later again Ella) and leaving them alone resulting in all of us having to go on rescue missions. To his love for riding shot gun in the machines at the farm, which eventually got him left alone in the passenger seat waiting on someone to take him for a ride! His love of crawfishing and returning with a bright red face all puffed up and proud of his latest accomplishments..... and lastly his haul butt Tucker Monkey Run! He hadnt been able to handle going to the barn recently with out being in pain the next day so he and I made one last trip to just sit in the grass and smell the smells. Our Vet was able to come to the house so Tuck could be comfortable at home. I feel like it was too short of a time but I am thankful for my 9 years with the old man. I am thankful for everything he has taught me for him being my constant shoulder to cry on... he always knew when I needed a wag and smile or just a head to pet. They have been very rare lately but on Thursday as we sat in the front yard one last time watching the puppies wrestling and Rylynn chasing after them he made sure to come sit next to me and gave me both. I feel he knew it was his time and he was thankful that he would be set free to once again Haul Butt Tucker Monkey Run across a field!
