I heard a frustrated Idah Peterside blaming the Super Eagles players on Supersport tonight and I begin to wonder some our so called football analysts are not bad enough influence on coaches like Stephen Keshi. Few weeks ago Idah said on Soccer Africa that Obafemi Martins scoring in the MLS could be likened to a player scoring in the Botswana league and that Nigeria doesnt need players like him. Is Idah,as well as Keshi, saying those flat footed attackers he took to Sudan (including the off form-Emenike and those local strikers) better than Martins who just won the MLS player of the month award after scoring 17 goals so far? With Martins experience after playing in the Italian Serie A, Premiership, Spanish La Liga and Russian 1st division,his current top form in the MLS should place him on the top merit list of Super Eagles invitees. Few minutes ago,the same Idah was heard praising Asamoah Gyan of Ghana for scoring yet again for Ghana this evening against Guinea. Asamoah now plies his trade for Al Ain fc in the Saudi Arabian League. Is Idah now rating the Saudi League ahead of the MLS? On Stephen Keshi,I agree with those who want him out now. It appears he has ran out of ideas and probably less respected by the players.
