I heard about this as a kid ( mostly a bash agaist how dumb mexicans were) and just thought it was a joke but apparently it wasnt , so in the 80s cabage patch kids where sold with birth cerificates that resembled real ones so much that they could easily be passed off as real when used to get drivers license and social security cards back then and even up until the late 90s , it its estimated the 17% of legal immigrants ( from 83 to 97 ) got their citizenship from illegal sponsors that where concidered legal due to the birth certificates that where provided by cabage patch dolls . I just thought it was kinda crazy and wanted to share , nothing against anyone , if you out smart the system more power to ya . I just thought it was funny cause nobody talks about this now days but just a few Google searches and sifting through the racism crap you can find some interesting facts on the matter
