I help run the New Rainbow Group which is for women over 50 who have suffered or are suffering from mental health issues. The group has been going for over 15 years and now meets every Thursday between 10am and 12pm at Mencap 379-381 High Road, Willesden, London, NW10 2JR. We are run solely by volunteers and aim to provide refreshments, friendship and an hour’s activity each week between 10.30am and 11.30am which could be painting, creative writing or various crafts. We have been very lucky in having dedicated people that have committed to come once a month or once every two months to share their skills and knowledge with our group but recently we have lost two volunteers which has meant that it has become difficult to maintain our regular activities. If you have an artistic skill of any kind that you would be willing to share with the group or would like to give a talk about a something of interest that would fit into an hour we would love you to contact us. You could do a single session or commit to come on a more frequent basis. We are able to refund your travelling expenses and pay for materials.
