I highly recommend the show SOUVENIR by 64th Street Productions, with Kathy Osborn and Phil Pletcher. Saw it this afternoon and its TERRIFIC. “She’s a myth…the crazy lady that couldn’t sing,” but filled Carnegie Hall. Don’t miss Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins. This play tugs at all of your heart strings at once. Hilarious, sobering, heart-breakingly real, Souvenir lets accompanist Cosme McMoon (Philip Pletcher) sing, play and tell the story of his fateful professional relationship with Mrs. Foster Jenkins (Kathy Osborn). The play is based on a true story. Written by Stephen Temperley and directed by Patricia Knox Huyge, the play will run 6 performances Thursday July 10-12 at 7:30pm and Sunday 13 at 5pm; Friday and Saturday July 18-19 at 7:30pm. The performances will be held at the Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Rd, Douglas, MI. Presented by the Lakeshore Arts Alliance through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Tickets: $20, Seniors (65 and older) and students: $15.00. Call for tickets (269) 857.5300.
