I honestly cannot count the number of times I have picked up a lost bee from inside our house and carried her outside. It;s just a matter of holding my hand in front of her and allowing her to walk on in her good time. Then I pop her in a pot plant, she adjusts herself and off she flies. While it is true that our bees are bred to be exceptionally calm, bees normally only sting as a very last resort, usually when defending their hive. Remember, when they sting you their stinger rips out of their bottom and they die. And they really dont want to die - they would rather make honey. So if you hear a buzzing and you are nowhere near a hive - stay still, remain calm - its just a lady looking for honey. Shell be on her way very soon. Remember, even if you dont care for honey - her pollination activity is vital for many plants. About one mouthful in three in an average human diet directly or indirectly benefits from honey bee pollination.
