I hope on of my FB friends is only a degree of separation from the folks I am about to describe and let them know they were observed... So were flying back from Phoenix and boarding the plain. An all American good looking family with a Mommy and Daddy and either a good friend or other relation with three kids came on board and took the six seats in the three seat aisle next to us. All were well stock with computers, water bottles, food and assorted electronic toys for the trip to Philly. These guys looked right out of central casting. So, they break open the electronics and start settling in before the plan takes off with earphones and all. So other families start boarding (and its a full flight) and people start approaching their seats which these now clearly squatter people have claimed. When people came, they said, oh, were familly. The families came and basically said, were families too. and were dismissed and traded off by the family who had staked their claim. The flight attendant offered no help and so these families has to sit in other seats breaking up their families. Two were from a different country and were polite about it, but were visibly upset and sharing negative opinions with one another about this kind of conduct. So, the plane gets settles and the squatter family is all engaged with their Apples and sandwiches and other toys and the announcement comes over the speaker to power out and these turkeys continue with tables down and open computers and tablets and I6s etc. One of the meathead guys puts his bag in the aisle an announcement comes over that we can move until the bag in the aisle is stowed. Eventually word gets to this putz that he has to stow the bad. Finally two attendants come down the aisle and firmly tell these yutzes to put away their crap, tables up, seats in upright postion and so on. Oh yes, these people spoke English, everyone sitting around them know all about their different toys, who were the assholes in where they worked and other information that simply is not necessary for everyone to hear. As the flight progressed, one of the men, sitting in the window seat needed to use the facility and so he placed his hands on the tops of his own chair and the chair in front of him and hoisted himself into a gymnastic tuck and propel position and skilled over the center seats putting his feet on the chair arms and propeling himself to the aisle over two people. It was amazing, but I noticed the seats in front snapped as he self propelled probably annoying the person sitting in front of him. At the end of the flight, the Narcissist Family had to have two members of the crew tell them to put away their electonics and put their tables are as they seem to refuse to follow directions. Es and I were thinking, what are the kids learning about listening to directions and respect for authority. I watched as the flight attendants has to be extra nice to these asses. I felt sorry for the displaced passengers. The ugly sense of entitlement displayed by this family was just bothersome. Quite frankly, they should have been thrown off the plane before it started as their own seeming sense of self importance was just so evident. Very sad.
