I hope that this causes a few chuckles... I propose an extension to the standard model of particles, as follows: The first particle I would like to propose is the Inspiration. This is the fundamental particle of ideas. Youve probably already heard the phrase struck by (an) inspiration. This is where an Inspiration interacts with a receptive mind causes a shower of ideas. Because of this effect, this particle can be used to measure minds. Open minds tend to readily interact with and absorb Inspirations, while closed minds deflect the Inspirations away. The second particle Id like to propose is the anti-particle to the Inspiration... I call this the Moron. This particle is the fundamental particle of stupid. This particle can also be used to measure the mind as its re-activity is exactly opposite to the Inspiration, being readily absorbed by closed minds. Open minds seem to lack Morons as the incoming Inspirations annihilate them. Closed minds seem to radiate large quantities of Morons which are readily absorbed by other closed minds. This gives rise to large concentrations of closed minds due to Moron-Moron attraction. I propose that there is also a particle of theistic ideas called a Religion. This is obviously a highly charged particle that interacts with almost everything, even though no-one has ever managed to actually observe one. This particle seems to exert a repulsive force on open minds and an attractive force on closed minds. The Religion seems to be a precursor particle to the Moron as when a Religion enters a closed mind, that mind starts emitting Morons. This process is termed indoctrination. The anti-particle of religion is the the FACT. Once a concentrated stream of facts is aimed at a religion, it rapidly decays into nothing more than Morons and a lot of waste heat. A FACT could be the precursor particle to the Inspiration as Inspirations seem to strike when lots of facts (termed knowledge) coincides with an open mind. WARNING: Any material that is sufficiently saturated with Religions is described as Religious, and becomes very flammable especially when in the presence of large amounts of FACTS.
