I hope the new year has started off well for all of you. As many - TopicsExpress

I hope the new year has started off well for all of you. As many of you know, Lynn and I are living in Wendell, NC again to be close to Lynns work. If you have followed my music page, you are aware of the changing climate for songwriters in Nashville that has developed over the last few years. That, along with Lynn having acquired a new job that she really enjoys, has caused us to rethink moving to Nashville until Lynn retires... which is several years down the road. I will still be maintaining my membership in the Nashville Songwriters Association (NSAI) and continuing to augment my BMI catalog of original songs. In addition, we will make our occasional trips to Music City and test the songwriting water, so to speak, in the genres of Country, Americana, and Contemporary Christian (or more along the lines of Inspirational music). That being said, my musical attention in 2015 will be directed more toward the following areas: 1) Playing private events for individuals, small businesses, corporations, civic clubs, etc. (from Maryland to Georgia, those types of events proved both lucrative and enjoyable for us in 2014.) 2) Playing small dinner clubs and venues who cater largely to the 60s/70s/country and rock crowds in the Baby Boomer/GenX age groups. 3) Re-establishing the Shaky Legz Music home studio to record my Bittersweet project and others. 4) Mentoring young artists who are serious about music and could benefit from my hopeful, but honest, advice on how to proceed in the dog eat dog business of professional music (as shared with me by some of Nashvilles most successful singer/songwriters of the 80s and 90s). So, thats my plans for 2015. But plans can change... so as Jeffrey Steel, one of my favorite songwriters of the new millennium, wrote... If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans. LOL Ill keep yall informed as to where Ill be playing. So... Come out to a show when you can! And as always... thanks for supporting local musicians and songwriters!
