I hope the talented Sarah McIntyre wont mind me quoting from what must be one of the most charming out-of-the-office auto replies Ive received to date. I’m currently in Wales, helping a school to look after a dragon they adopted as an egg. (They had been planning for a chicken.) Now fully grown, the dragon has burned the school to the ground, but the children have rewarded its action with great diligence in feeding it and emptying its litter tray in the absence of any classes. I’ve not been able to answer e-mails as frequently as I would like since we have only one Internet cable in the middle of the field and the dragon gnaws through it as soon as we get it working. So please be patient if I don’t answer your e-mail immediately. Cant wait for her appearances, dragon allowing, at the North Cornwall Book Festival this October to tell us about Theres a Shark in My Bath or, with Philip Reeve (the one not in the frock) about Cakes in Space...
