I just checked my email, and found this message. Tears of gratitude right now for the Work the Lord has called me to. There were not many people who had long beards and wore white robes and carried white crosses a few years ago. More have cropped up recently, but certainly not many more on the French Quarter. I tell a similar story about an encounter on Bourbon street often. And I have often prayed for the man. If it wasnt that particular individual and that particular time, I have had several such experiences. Looking forward to corresponding with him. I stumbled across the movie Good People Go To Hell Saved People Go To Heaven on Amazon and your story of witnessing for Christ. Thank you so much for your ministry! I would like to share a quick story to encourage you in your faith walk. Many years ago, when I was an unsaved, reprobate young man I was in New Orleans in the French Quarter and involved in a Masonic organization. They were having our annual convention there and we were participants. During this event, I spent the days and nights in a drunken haze. However, I starkly remember the details of one night. On this night in a stupor I encountered a man with a large white cross, white dress, and long beard who, in my opinion, looked like Jesus. He told me that Jesus love me and I belligerently yelled back. I was intent on beating him up but the individuals I was with dragged me off. Surprisingly, this was one of my first memories of being exposed to the Gospel. While I am not certain that individual was you, if it was thank you! And, my accept my apology for treating you so harshly. A year later I was led to salvation in Christ. I quite my old life-style overnight and left the organization. Since then I have been active in serving Christ as a missionary, bible study leader, and teacher. I continue to lead people to the Lord and disciple them to be fruit-bearers. Ive had the opportunity to advance the Gospel in the remote and untouched areas of the world. Through Gods use of me a number of missionaries continue to serve and pastors are now shepherding churches. It would take a multi-page email to describe the fruit of the ministry God for which has used my frail attempts to accomplish, but I continue to work to advance Christs Kingdom everywhere I am planted. It has been my prayers for many years to thank the man with a cross standing in the French Quarter street. I hope that was you and this email encourages you; I will not know for certain until eternity. At the least, be encouraged that your ministry may not seem like it is bearing fruit (I certainly didnt repent then) but you have greatly impacted eternity.
