I just dont understand why people have a negative attitude towards SLC being given importance. Most would like to cloak their discontent by using the oft abused excuse of parents and teachers putting undue pressure on students to perform well in SLC. while the unnecessary pressure is not right, however focusing on and appreciating the importance of SLC is and should be encouraged. Its very easy to say grades do not judge the capability of an individual, but they do give some insights as to how hardworking a person is. And like it or not performers will do way better in life than non-performers - that is the hard truth! so lets stop cribbing about how this entire system is flawed but rather focus on how it can be made better.
