I just finished reading a response from The National Bar - TopicsExpress

I just finished reading a response from The National Bar Association (NBA) about the Zimmerman trial. The NBA is a professional organization of good standing and high ideals. Founded in 1925 and is the nation’s oldest and largest national network of predominantly African American attorneys and judges. It represents approximately 44,000 lawyers, judges, law professors and law students and has over 80 affiliate chapters throughout the United States and around the world. When you consider what these people do for a living you would think their response to the Zimmerman trial would have been a reasoned example of critical thinking. In this instance it’s a shameful thing. NBA President, John E. Page, gives his personal bias free rein to ignore the facts and overrule logical thought in making his response. This process of leaving critical thinking by the wayside, and letting emotion dictate decisions is called cognitive dissonance. Critical thinking allows one to separate out serious issues, weigh the actual evidence without letting emotion dictate or distort the conclusion. Critical thinking is a skill set worth its weight in gold to anyone, and especially so in the legal profession. Mr. Page, the man who made the NBA response to the Zimmerman trial should consider either learning it, or relearning it. socialcourttv/nationalbarzimmerman/
