I just found out something that REALLY UPSETS ME. At Youth Nationals the champion has the choice of a jacket or a belt buckle. AHA collects money from sponsors for these. BUT...... if a child wins more than one National Championship they are only allowed to take ONE prize! I am not sure the reasoning, apparently a child have an extra buckle to a groom. ... I think that was a very thoughtful and unselfish gesture. The point is that it was their buckle to give! A friend was telling me that his son won 3 championships at Youth. Mom and Dad were really thrilled that they could each wear a buckle celebrating the great job he did at the show. Unfortunately he was only allowed one buckle. SO WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY DONATED TO PROVIDE THE OTHER 2 BUCKLES? Maybe this explains why you frequently dont get a thank you note from the child who won the class you donated for!
