I just got done watching a wonderful documentary on the immortal trumpet player, Clifford Brown: Brownie Speaks, directed by Don Glanden. Much thanks to my good friend, Roger Woods for hipping me to this. Its almost entirely an oral history (i.e., theres very little voice-over narration), with interviews with friends and family who knew him well and are able to most effectively illuminate his brilliance as a musician as well demonstrate what a stellar human being he was. Anyway, I highly recommend it to anyone who digs Brown.
