I just had a great conversation with a past SEO and Adwords client, who is transferring his web hosting services away from me shortly. He is doing that because hes been offered free hosting for a year. He has had some problems with the new agency who took over his Adwords management - a large Adwords account management company who often promises more than they deliver. I know this because Ive heard the same story from other clients as well. My client was so unhappy with the gap between the sales spiel and reality he had to visit their offices demanding to see senior management and get stuck into them for promising the world and failing to deliver. So part of their restitution offering was to offer him a year of free hosting and a complete rebuild of his web site to incorporate various things they have committed to delivering. So he is going to give that a go. My client and I are parting company on friendly terms, with a commitment to speak every few months to see how its working out for him. What Ive learned from 21 years in business, when a client leaves your business, if you appreciate that client and value the relationship, you can always leave the door open for them to return in future.
