I just had a serious debate with a very well respected male Native Elder, since I am an elder I felt we could converse with wisdom. His point a young man African American had a choker and head dress. Said the American Blacks should know better cause they were repressed. My point was did the young man have native blood and thought he was honoring his ancestors? We went head to head, he was determined to stick with disrespectful, I felt perhsps no one told the young man this was inappropriate. I also stated I have met all kind of Indian people even those full blood listed that do not know way. Should we persecute or should we take them aside and teach them??
