I just hand delivered this letter into the hands of our local Bendigo Bank branch. I urge everyone to do the same. Let them see the outrage all across Australia: TO THE MANAGEMENT AT BENDIGO BANK This is to inform you that I am thoroughly disgusted by your company’s decision to terminate the bank account of a patriotic group called Concerned Citizens of Bendigo, who have been working to limit the spread of islam in our nation. This decision contravenes our Constitutional rights under: Section 44 Discrimination in the provision of goods and services (1) A person must not discriminate against another person — (a) by refusing to provide goods or services to the other person; or (b) in the terms on which goods or services are provided to the other person; or (c) by subjecting the other person to any other detriment in connection with the provision of goods or services to him or her. (2) Subsection (1) applies whether or not the goods or services are provided for payment. Note: ‘services’ includes banking. I was considering changing banks and your company was on my short list. But you can be very sure that I will NEVER bank with the Bendigo bank…ever! What a disgusting and vile decision. What happened to Freedom of Speech? What happened to Freedom of Thought? The statement your bank issued supporting this decision is mendacious and extremely insulting: “Our Bank values tolerance and inclusiveness, qualities which are an important part of a strong community.” By this statement, the Bendigo Bank has shown that it supports Islamic values, such as beheading, cutting off hands and feet, stoning to death, hanging gays, female genital mutilation, depriving women of their rights, gruesome and cruel Islamic halal slaughter of innocent animals, segregation by religious beliefs, slavery, and terrorism. Islam is a political, social, legal and military IDEOLOGY wrapped in a thin skin of religion. Calling islam a religion is like calling Nazism a religion. They both have elements of religious behaviour, but they are definitely not religions. This decision by the bank will have far-reaching consequences, all of them bad for your bank. People are closing down their accounts. Investors are selling their shares. What a sorry day for Freedom in Australia when the Bendigo Bank opened its doors!
