I just have to preface this preview with a few words: It was three summers ago that we were taking our last family vacation (before my mother passed) when my mom looked out her passenger window of the truck and said Jennie, oh look at that! My dad pulled over to the side of the road to the view of a massive field of golden glowing sunflowers. I stood on the tailgate with my camera in hand and snapped away. It was a hidden gem, and a year later we lost her... Now, its a tradition to visit this field of sunshine in the hazy August month to hold onto a piece of that moment in a corner of the world that my mom knew like the back of her hand (second to Westtown). It has been since then that I have wanted to shoot in this field. But situations and circumstances werent conducive to the timing. So, on a lighter note, when Stephanie asked me to capture her during this season of her life, there was no better place to do so. I met Mike and Steph at the fields and they were both astounded by its glow. I love these two! Steph immediately walked up to me and knew who I was... it felt like we were old friends meeting in a maze of sunshine. Instant connection. They were married just DAYS prior to this shoot and I cant even tell you how honored I felt to capture such a huge moment in their life.
